Communication And Contactless Payment With This High Tech Wristband

The sleek wearable features electronics for carrying out essential human activities and offers enhanced system computing

Nowadays, practically any everyday object can be equipped with smart IoT functionalities that are powerful, energy-efficient and small. This statement has been proven to be true by a wearable device that uses biometric data and interprets human gestures to perform activities such as answering a call or making payments.

The sleek and feature-rich bracelet called get® has been developed by an Italian deep-tech start-up called Deed. The seamless, ultralight and water-resistant wearable is made up of several layers of high-tech fabrics. Inside, there is a rigid-flex Printed Circuit Board (PCB). The intuitive Human Machine Interface (HMI) allows for the most natural way to operate the wearable without requiring swipe or touch actions on the display screen. AI-enabled motion sensors interpret human gestures, for example, to pick up a call, check the time or make payments. Consumers can use it to listen to audio or answer calls by holding their finger to their ear by ‘wrist bone conduction’, sending the sound through the body to the inner ear. Contactless payments can be released after individual electrocardiogram-based biometric identification. Besides that, the bracelet also allows fitness and health monitoring.

At the core of get® are components from Infineon Technologies that enable the system with connectivity, computing, sensing and security capabilities. The low power SECORA Connect empowers the bracelet with the payment functionality while the XENSIV MEMS technology ensures a disruption-free calling experience by providing high-fidelity voice recording during phone calls. The PSoC 6 microcontroller family utilises a high performance dual-core M4/M0 architecture. Paired with AIROC Wi-Fi & Bluetooth combos, it is the perfect solution for secured, low-power, feature-rich IoT products.

“We wanted to build get® as the next leap into wearable evolution,” said Edoardo Parini, CEO and founder of DEED. “The bracelet offers pioneeristic features, with new and higher security standards, unique ID acquisition method for contactless payment and a revolutionary, screenless user experience. It is the perfect bridge between ‘you‘ and ‘your’ digital-self!”
